200 Drutonedammoi
Melee Infantry / Melee Infantry / (cel_boii_champions)
Drutonedammoi
(Boii Champions)

The Drutonedammoi are men of steel vows, and steel weapons. Dutifully they follow their masters into the fray. Like mountains they stand beside him: unmovable, resolute, with blade in hand and pride in heart. Each man has a different tale of how he came to serve his master, and some motivations may not be as pure as others, but when the carnyx is sounded and battle is joined, none doubt their courage and loyalty.

200 Arjoi
Melee Infantry / Spear Infantry / (cel_boii_nobles)
Arjoi
(Boii Noble Warriors)

These dismounted nobles are probably more common in Boii armies than in other Celtic armies. The foot nobles are naturally the best equipped and skilled warriors. Their entire life is devoted to training and war exercises, and they have the best weapons available. Their armour is equally high-quality, but the Cisalpine Boii also use specific Etruscan wargear, like greaves and bronze armour.

Uerigeporedoi
(Early Boii Noble Horse)

In the past, Boian noble cavalry have used heavy wargear, including their big scutum, but in an imitation of other cavalry units, they have quickly abandoned it in favour of a smaller and lighter round cavalry shield. They fight with a long cavalry spear, essentially a lengthened gaesum, and the classic longsword.

Boii cavalry is modelled in imitation of the Etruscans, Raetians, Ligurians, and of course Celtic Gauls, like the Cenomani and Insubres. These late noble horsemen are equipped with chainmail, but some still use bronze armour and greaves. Etruscan style helmets are also worn, as proof of bravery.

Kotougatragakoi
(Boii Axemen)

The axe is a common weapon, being affordable, more easily produced than the sword, and requiring less training and skills to use. The Celts use them often, and the Boii are no exception. They use many axemen, more perhaps than Gallic peoples, due to their link with the Germans and Alpine tribes that use it as their main weapon.

These warriors are among the poorest in Boii society, but they are powerfully built and courageous. They use a wood mace or a club with a heavy metal or bone head, serving as a front-line assault troops.

200 Cingetoi
Melee Infantry / Melee Infantry / (cel_boii_early_warriors)
Cingetoi
(Early Boii Warriors)

Cingetos means the marching ones." It is the common name for professional, skilled Celtic warriors. Typical of the La Tene period, these Celtic warriors are the best of the regular troops; They are highly skilled veterans, given the best equipment. They use heavy spears and a long sword, but wear no armour except perhaps a bronze disc and a high, pointed helmet."

Cavaroi
(Boii Heroic Swordsmen)

These exceptionally well-built and well-equipped men are not nobles, but are selected for their skills and awesome bravery in battle. Cavaros" is the Gallic word for "hero" as well. They are given the largest and highest quality swords available, specifically the broad and long-handled swords of the Boians, but also a carry a shield, and a tall and recognisable Montefortino helmet."

Newjo Cingetoi
(Late Boii Warriors)

This late evolution of the Cingetos is more heavily armoured and professional: chainmail is now more usual, and their helmet is an evolution of previous models like the light Coolus, which is reinforced and heavier, as well as the Port and Agen variants. Cingetoi are now front line infantrymen, using a longsword as their main weapon.

300 Excingetoi
Melee Infantry / Melee Infantry / (cel_boii_swordsmen)
Excingetoi
(Boii Swordsmen)

The Boians are renowned for their swords. They are especially large and broad, with a narrow point, making them useful both for thrusting and slashing. The long handle allows these swords perhaps to be used with two hands. These swordsmen are the bread and butter of any Boian battle line, acting as its main assault infantry alongside the axemen.

200 Kludda Lugiae
Melee Infantry / Melee Infantry / (Cel_Kludda_Lugiae)
Kludda Lugiae
(Celtic Swordmasters)

The La Tene Celts are extremely skilled iron workers. One of the most renowned weapons they produce is the two-handed sword: a Celtic longsword with an elongated grip and a heavier blade. The Kludda Lugiae (Swords of the Lugians") are not necessarily the best outfitted, but they are of high-quality and can inflict a great deal of damage. These weapons require plenty of mobility and space to use, meaning the wielders do not organize into lines, but instead throw themselves at the enemy in widely spaced groups. La Tene two-handed swords are used in several regions, but are not overly popular because they are expensive and difficult to make. Moreover, the methods required to wield such a weapon often disallows for the wearing of much armour."

175 Sotaroas
Missile Infantry / Missile Infantry / (cel_boii_archers)
Sotaroas
(Boii Archers)

A rough life in the Alpine forest gives these archers sufficient skills to be lethal against any foe, and they are naturally born ambushers. Still, they should not be used alone, as they can barely sustain any close combat, being unskilled, unprotected, and equipped with simple, utilitarian daggers.

Runocingetoi
(Boii Night Warriors)

These men are specialized in night attacks, being accustomed to fast raids. They are relatively experienced, and skilled in commando-like" raids by night. They are given various equipment, depending on their own skills and needs: axes and swords for close combat, and bows as missile weapons. Painted in a blue woad melted with cender, they have perfect night camouflage."

Bagaudoi
(Boii Levy Spearmen)

Most of the time, only warriors regularly fight in battle. In the worst periods, however, when the tribe is under threat from their dangerous and aggressive neighbours, or when their convoys are attacked, every able man is called to arms. These levies can also be recruited to reinforce the lines, like in any Celtic battle line.

Acubagaudoi
(Boii Light Spearmen)

These troops are the most affordable and commonly found warriors recruited from the warrior class: They wield a spear and several javelins, with mostly fire-shaped points. They wear no armour but perhaps light leather, and a leather cap; their medium-quality wood scutum is their primary protection.

Medium Assault Raider - Teceitos
Longboats able to withstand rough seas, these ships' crews can capture enemy vessels in any weather.

(Celtic Axemen)

The Teceitos are an often overlooked component of a Celtic army. Many Celtic warriors are buried with axes - particularly in Britain and Eastern Europe - despite the fact that axes are neither as prestigious nor as admired as swords and spears. The axe is a fine weapon, able to do great damage even through armour. Using axes as well as javelins, the Teceitos are especially useful for breaking up heavy infantry. They are also a great asset to chariots, being able to follow them into breaches in the enemy's' line.
