Roman Military Camp

An army must be gathered and organised before it is sent on campaign.

During the 2nd punic war, Romans sent advisers to their Numidian allies. Their mission was to help in training their heavy infantry, that was previously unable to stand up to their Carthaginian counterparts. This resulted in the Numidians employing legionary-like troops, armed with rectangular shields, short swords and short spears to throw before the engagement.
