The Positive Side of Slavery

Is there a negative one?

Recent decades have been without many significant military victories. This has led to a shortage of slaves and the need for other forms of labour to replace them. For example, children who commit certain crimes can now be given to the people they've offended to redeem themselves through honest toil. A father also has the right to sell his children as a debt-bondage or a form of loan. The arrangement, however, has its shortcomings, as the number of available workers cannot be accurately predicted in advance. Luckily, the gradual reversal of our fortunes in recent times has brought a larger number of slaves, so debt-bondage is starting to become less significant.
