Northern Lancer Cavalry

Where the sabre cavalry excels in the involved, grizzly business of the melee, lancers are the shock warriors – their purpose being to break apart enemy formations, or neutralise the threat of enemy cavalry.

Armed with a ji spear, these mounted warriors are well-armoured and swift, able to continue their pursuit even after the initial – and likely devastating – charge has taken its toll on the enemy.

Unit Abilities

  • Miasma
    The dense and tough undergrowth that plagues the jungles of the South is a hindrance to all those who try to penetrate into the heartlands of the Nanman.
  • Loose
    The unit spreads apart, making it more difficult for arrows to hit them.
  • Wedge
    The unit forms into a spear-tip, best for driving directly through enemy lines.

  • DISCIPLINED
    Does not suffer a morale penalty when the general dies. It can also rally after routing more often.
  • RESISTANT TO FATIGUE
    Takes longer to feel fatigued.
  • HIDE IN FOREST
    Can hide in forests.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Role: flanking
    Fast, agile and devastating - flanking units can turn the tide of battle with a well-timed charge or by routing enemy missile units.
  • Good charge
    This unit has a superior, devastating charge attack compared to other flanking units.
  • Weak against missile attacks
    This unit is unshielded and therefore has little defence against missile attacks.
