Most of the time, only warriors regularly fight in battle. In the worst periods, however, when the tribe is under threat from their dangerous and aggressive neighbours, or when their convoys are attacked, every able man is called to arms. These levies can also be recruited to reinforce the lines, like in any Celtic battle line.

These troops are the most affordable and commonly found warriors recruited from the warrior class: They wield a spear and several javelins, with mostly fire-shaped points. They wear no armour but perhaps light leather, and a leather cap; their medium-quality wood scutum is their primary protection.

These dismounted nobles are probably more common in Boii armies than in other Celtic armies. The foot nobles are naturally the best equipped and skilled warriors. Their entire life is devoted to training and war exercises, and they have the best weapons available. Their armour is equally high-quality, but the Cisalpine Boii also use specific Etruscan wargear, like greaves and bronze armour.
