Barbarischer Weiler (Kalkstein)

Nahkampfinfanterie / Nahkampfinfanterie / (bel_levy_melee_infantry) Batoroi (Belgae Levy Clubmen) Belgic peasants are thrown on the front line with clubs and axes, in order to break the enemy shieldwall, allowing other, better equipped units to exploit the breach. Such tasks require brute force, but also sheer courage, to be able to survive to the first assault, immediately followed by swordsmen and spearmen. |

Nahkampfinfanterie / Speerinfanterie / (bel_levy_spearmen) Bagaudoi (Belgae Levy Spearmen) The Bagaudas are not warriors. They are peasants levied for war and trained for a time with warriors. They are poorely equipped for the most part, relying on their wooden shields for protection, and using a spear for defence and close fighting. |

Nahkampfinfanterie / Speerinfanterie / (bel_peasants) Atecti (Belgae Peasants) With a wicker shield and a spear, these peasants are useful and cheap to muster. They have few truly military tasks. They act as a rearguard, mostly to protect the baggage train on campaign, and to support the more experienced Bagaudas in a line. But these men are not experienced and have no training, so they are more useful as a local defence militia. |

Nahkampfinfanterie / Nahkampfinfanterie / (bel_shortswordsmen) Kluddobro (Belgae Shortswordsmen) The Kluddobro are young but skilled warriors, acting on the wings with other Excingoi (flank warriors). They have several tasks, but mostly to outflank the enemy center and then disrupt the enemy lines. |
