Koloniální městečka vyrostla z malých vísek a osad, z nichž některé existovaly už před příchodem Římanů, a stala se středisky oblastní správy a obchodu.

Pěchota pro boj zblízka / Pěchota s kopími / (AOR_1_Caledonian_Levies) Pictone Lugoae (Caledonian Levies) The Caledonians are a fierce people on the edge of the world. Beyond Caledonia stretches a great, empty ocean, and Caledonia itself is home to a rather isolated people. They are seemingly relics of a former era of Celtic history, they do not have great deals of iron, and so do not produce many swords. They instead fight with more practical weapons, spears, javelins, and slings. Balroae (Bal-ro-ee) are a vast number of men, of many ages and varying levels of experience. Seemingly fearless, and wild, their bodies are tattooed in esoteric spiral designs, their hair is spiked and red, and they are remarkably fearsome. They are very hardy and brave; their lifestyle demands it. Alone, a disciplined army would destroy them, but if incorporated into a more tactics minded commander, they may prove more useful. |

Well-trained compared to many of their enemies’ cavalry, they are invaluable to any army. They throw javelins at a distance, depleting an enemy before charging with their main spears. They are trained to throw javelins, charge, and withdraw repeatedly, and they do it well. They wear Phrygian style helmets, light cotton Thracian trousers, and carry javelins, in addition to a smaller and lighter shield. The Indo-Greeks have adapted quite well to the environment of India and have prospered. Many have become Buddhists, though they still remain fierce warriors, true to their Hellenic forefathers. |

Jízda / Kontaktní jízda / (AOR_23_iranian_light_cav) Kamboja Asvaka Ksatriya (Indo-Iranian Light Cavalry) Master horsemen and horse traders, Kambojas never leave an opportunity to plunder using their light cavalry. Living on both sides of the Khyber Pass, they are a part of the Arya races which stormed and conquered India, some 1500 years before. Their helmet is an evolved Boiotian one, and their primary cuirass is a quilted silk one. Their weapons are clearly Hellenic: a round aspis shield, a short kontos spear that could be held underarm in a couched stance, and a sturdy kopis for when the spear gives way."" |

Pěší střelci / Střelecká pěchota / (AOR_40_corsican_javeliners) Pelliti Velites (Pelliti Skirmishers) Pelliti skirmishers are lightly armed troops who can break up and harass enemy formations before the main battle lines meet, and act as a screen for heavier troops. They are often composed of the Sardinian or Corsican tribes' younger warriors. Each man is armed with a clutch of throwing spears, a short sword, and a small shield, but they do not wear armour, preferring speed over protection. |

According to Germanic tradition, as soon as these men receive their gaizaz (spear) and skelduz (shield), they are frije (free) adults, charged with equal shares and responsibilities in the tribe. Frije also means one's own, for to belong is to fulfill the duties of being free. |
