Koloniální městečka vyrostla z malých vísek a osad, z nichž některé existovaly už před příchodem Římanů, a stala se středisky oblastní správy a obchodu.

Pictone Lugoae
(Caledonian Levies)

The Caledonians are a fierce people on the edge of the world. Beyond Caledonia stretches a great, empty ocean, and Caledonia itself is home to a rather isolated people. They are seemingly relics of a former era of Celtic history, they do not have great deals of iron, and so do not produce many swords. They instead fight with more practical weapons, spears, javelins, and slings. Balroae (Bal-ro-ee) are a vast number of men, of many ages and varying levels of experience. Seemingly fearless, and wild, their bodies are tattooed in esoteric spiral designs, their hair is spiked and red, and they are remarkably fearsome. They are very hardy and brave; their lifestyle demands it. Alone, a disciplined army would destroy them, but if incorporated into a more tactics minded commander, they may prove more useful.

During periods of strife and war, it is sometimes necessary to call upon ordinary citizens to organize as militia. Called Lugoae, militia in Celtic societies are farmers, craftsmen, fishermen, and so on, called to brief military service in periods of crisis. They may train a few times a year to fight, and games and sports encourage a decent level of physicality, but they're still only militia, and can only be trusted to do so much.

(Vocontii Cavalry)

Vocontae Epos constitute the bulk of Vocontii cavalry. Well-trained compared to many of their enemies’ cavalry, they are invaluable to any army. They throw javelins at a distance, depleting an enemy before charging with their main spears. They are trained to throw javelins, charge, and withdraw repeatedly, and they do it well. A bronze helmet, shield, and light weapons may not seem the equipment of any particularly great cavalry, but they are a solid medium cavalry force, capable of running down routers, defeating light cavalry, and skirmishing if necessary.

The Raumarici are a Germanic tribe from the area of Romerike near Oslo. Germanic warriors are typically able to make effective arms quickly from any readily available materials. By shaping heavy boughs of oak and inserting bone spikes, these clubs can be used to maim both armoured and unarmoured foes alike.

The Gautoz live in southern Sweden, today's Götaland. These Germanic horsemen use neither saddles, nor stirrups: inventions which would later be introduced by invading peoples from the east. When combined with light infantry, these light cavalrymen offer great tactical speed and versatility on the battlefield.

The Sitones are a Germanic or Finnic people who reside just above the Suiones (Swedes). It is said that these people are very much like the Suiones, except they are ruled by a woman, which goes against the Germanic custom. Each warrior is armed with a bundle of throwing spears, a slightly longer spear for melee, and a stout ovular shield, but they do not wear armour.

From lands with a harsh climate in eastern Svealand, these people are accustomed to fighting every day for their own survival. In warfare it is up to each man to prove his own bravery and worth, so their uniquely savage charge into the enemy enables them to perform slightly better than their neighbours in that respect.

The Suiones are a powerful tribe, distinguished not merely by their soldiers, but also - in possessing ships with prows on both ends - by their powerful fleets. Swords are not plentiful in Germanic lands because of their cost in iron, and so these fierce and valiant warriors carry their highly valued swords with pride.
