在混沌勇士的行伍中，有些战士会比同伴们更能获得黑暗诸神的青睐。这些人便是神选者，他们的身躯中涌动着不洁的力量，他们犯下的诸多恶行也换来了混沌诸神们的许多恩赐。这些恩赐的种类如同混沌本身的面目般繁多，但绝大多数的变异都是很实用的武器，这也能让神选者们更有效地毁灭文明世界的国度。纵使有些神选者并未获得这类『痕迹』，他们身上所散发的黑暗气息也足以让他们带有黑暗诸神般的魄力。神选者是混沌族类中真正的贵族，他们会在战斗中身先士卒，不像是指挥官，倒像是一群精英勇士与冠军勇士——这也正是他们获取更多的青睐，从而完成升魔之路的方式。纵使面对的是黑火药的弹雨、箭矢箭矢编织的冰雹甚至猛烈的大炮齐射，他们也绝不会退缩，只要面前的是自己的猎物，他们就绝不会有一丝一毫的犹豫。只要神选者部队登上战场，就足以将敌人的战线吓得支离破碎。此时，他们迈步向前、高举刀锋，一场秩序井然的屠宰就此上演。
