Yi Marksmen

Highly-trained archers outfitted with leather armour and armed with zhibeidao swords to defend against infantry attacks.

Yi Marksmen have proven their skill with the bow in both competitions and battle. They are armed with long siyah horn bows, which have extended siyahs to increase velocity and power of the arrows fired.

Missile units are always a threat and tend to be eliminated quickly, so the marksmen are outfitted with leather armour and equipped with long zhibeidao swords to fend off enemy infantry attacks.

Unit Abilities

  • Smoke Screen
    Thick plumes of smoke obscure line of sight, making units seem temporarily invisible.
  • Miasma
    The dense and tough undergrowth that plagues the jungles of the South is a hindrance to all those who try to penetrate into the heartlands of the Nanman.
  • Loose
    The unit spreads apart, making it more difficult for arrows to hit them.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Role: rear line
    These troops are best placed at the rear of an army, where they can cause damage from a position of relative safety.
  • Good in melee
    While the bow is this unit's primary weapon, it can also hold its own in melee.
  • Weak against cavalry
    This unit is very vulnerable to cavalry charges, especially to the flanks.
