Mounted Crossbows
A crossbow is an effective and deadly weapon. So, too, a horse.Much like their mounted archer counterparts, mounted crossbowmen are valued for their manoeuvrability on the battlefield. A contingent of warriors able to fire from range then swiftly retreat from any counter-attack is a useful tool to any commander. The crossbow has a particular benefit over the standard bow, however, in that it is far easier to use. This means that anyone able to ride a horse can be handed a crossbow and easily turned into a lethal force in battle.

This unit's missiles are heavily tipped to drill through the strongest armour, but will still be deflected by shields.
