Celtic Warhounds
Man's best friend can also be a savage, terrible enemy.Dogs have always been useful for guard, patrol and scout work. With skilled handlers they can also be used effectively on the battlefield. Attack dogs were specifically bred and trained to ignore the noise and chaos of combat. Taught to attack on command, they were starved a little to ensure aggression before being unleashed upon enemy formations as a savage wave. Faced with a pack of foaming, hungry dogs many men naturally broke or faltered, opening gaps in a battle line that could then be exploited by melee troops.
