Advanced Saddle

Celtic warriors were known for their ferocity and unrivalled skill as horsemen. As one of the first European peoples to develop a saddle, they were able to master the horse and improve their range of movement whilst mounted. These early saddles had four pommels, two positioned to the rear and two that angled out over each thigh. This gave the riders a firm seat and left their hands free to wield their weapon of choice.
