Auxiliary Camp

隨著羅馬帝國日益強大，人們需要越來越多的軍隊來保衛他們的帝國。所以他們從羅馬帝國以外的地方征用了一些輔助士兵來填補空缺。輔助士兵的征用從奧古斯都時期開始。他招募了鄉下無公民身份的民眾，盟友或戰敗國的民眾。在滿服役25年之後，輔助士兵以及他們的後代將獲得高級合法地位，即羅馬公民身份。

這些軍隊容納了多種文化和民族。他們說各自的語言，以各自的傳統方式作戰。到了公元2世紀，將近一半的軍隊成員和幾乎所有騎兵部隊成員都由輔助士兵組成。
