死人不能玷污土壤、火焰或流水

天葬—由食腐鸟吃掉尸体，是一种常见的葬式。尸体被放置在高塔之上，供鸟类和大自然享用，最终是剩一具白骨。因为死人被认为是不洁的，这些“寂塔”—寂静之塔常安放在居住地之外。尸骨最终被收集起来，放在葬具里，安放在寂塔或圣堂里。

拜火教文化当中，死尸会玷污圣火和土地。天葬剩下的尸骨被安放在圣骨灵场当中。石灰和雨水分解了遗骨，被木炭和沙子滤过之后，水会自然地流走
