Barbarian Village (Salt)

Yakın Piyade / Mızraklı Piyade / (AOR_4_Belgae_Levies) Eburonae Lugoae (Belgae Levies) During periods of strife and war, it is sometimes necessary to call upon ordinary citizens to organize as militia. Called Lugoae, militia in Celtic societies are farmers, craftsmen, fishermen, and so on, called to brief military service in periods of crisis. They may train a few times a year to fight, and games and sports encourage a decent level of physicality, but they're still only militia, and can only be trusted to do so much. |

Yakın Piyade / Kargılı Piyade / (AOR_9_Campanian_Hoplites) Kampanioi Hoplitai (Campanian Hoplites) These men are typical hoplites, wearing feathered or crested helmets, along with greaves and breastplates. Their weapons include the dory, xiphos, and the classic large aspis shield. However, they are more mobile than classic hoplites, useful as flanking heavy infantry rather than a central phalanx unit. |

Yakın Piyade / Yakın Piyade / (AOR_9_Italy_Taurisci_Axemen) Taurisci Securiferi (Taurisci Axemen) One of the last Ligurian tribes to survive the Boii and Gallic invasions and assimilation, the Taurisci survive in central Italy. Seen as barbarians by the Romans and most of the southern Italic civilisations, they are equipped with a scutum, javelins, and a deadly light axe, similar to the Illyrian and Venetian tribes. These axemen are renowned as assault infantry. |

Yakın Piyade / Mızraklı Piyade / (Cel_Gaizoz_Alje) Gaizoz Alje (Foreign Spears) On the borders between the Celtic and Germanic territories where the cultures of these peoples have become entwined, a fusion of Gallo-Germanic fighting styles has occurred. The Gaizoz Alje (Foreign Spears") are capable warriors who fight with longshields, javelins, and Celtic longspears - the latter being an excellent weapon for dismounting enemy riders. They throw javelins before charging, and can use their spears to absorb the shock of a cavalry rush. Their battle skills are a mix of Celtic and Germanic styles, and they are useful addition to any army." |

They have settled in the delta of the Istros (Danube), on an island called Peuce facing the Pontus Euxinus, hence their name. |

Yakın Piyade / Kargılı Piyade / (Ger_Speudogordoz) Markamannoz Speutagardaz (Markamannoz Pikemen) The Markamannoz are a famous tribe, warlike but organised on the battlefield. Among the elites, they have famous spearmen, the Speutagardaz. They are skilled enough to form impressive shieldwalls with five meter long spears, a rather unusual feature. Speutagardaz use long spears with a short and narrow head. They are well equipped, probably having light axes, reinforced leather armor, and a leather and scale helmet, which is lighter and cheaper than the usual iron helmet, but highly protective. |
