Grove of Neto
A simple place for the warrior to commune with his god.As a god of war, Neto was known as 'lord of the ray' for his ability to harness the blistering heat and energy of the sun. Solar deities such as Neto were revered for this power, as the Sun was considered to be the mightiest of all things. As such, his symbol of worship was a bull, denoting the raw strength possessed of it. Neto is referenced on the Botorrita plaques of Zaragoza, and is thought to be linked to the Celtic war god Neit, who was worshipped in Ireland at around the same time. As the Iberian equivalent of the Greek god Apollo, linked to the Sun, and the Roman god of war, Mars (another name for Neto was 'Mars Neto'), it is implied that Neto represented order, security and knowledge, rather than the more chaotic violence of his direct equivalent, the Greek war god, Ares.
