Fishing Port
Many nets are better than one.Over many years humans have developed a variety of fishing methods from the spear fishing of the Egyptians to the use of fish-cages in Greece. People developed methods that were appropriate to the waters they were fishing and the fish they hoped to catch. The Celtic tribes of Britain and Ireland developed a small river-going vessel known as a 'coracle'. This lightweight, oval boat had a framework of willow rods that were covered with animal skin. Its low weight meant it could be easily carried, allowing fishermen to carry their boats down to the river from their homes. The design of the coracle varied slightly depending on the river where it was to be used. Coracles for tidal rivers, like the Tywi in Wales, were round and deep, whereas those designed for use in rapidly flowing water had shallow, flat bottoms.

Medium Ship / Missile Ship / (Bar_Missile_Raider_Nomad) Missile Raider - Skuda Fistaeg Fat Aexsdzhytae Small raiding boats, with crews large enough to board enemy vessels. (Scythian Foot Archers) These archers are not well outfitted for hand to hand combat, as all they carry is a short sword or small pickaxe, and no armour but their thick jackets and bashlyk felt caps. If unsupported, they will be easy prey for cavalry or aggressive infantry who are fast enough to catch them. |

Medium Ship / Melee Ship / (Bar_Raider_Nomad) Assault Raider - Saka Tapabara Small raiding boats, with crews large enough to board enemy vessels. (Saka Axemen) In addition to their iron sagaris axes, these warriors carry fire-hardened javelins. For protection, they carry square reed shields reinforced with leather, which, though light, are very resistant to missiles. They are best used for flanking already engaged foes or as lightly armoured shock troops, but if tied up in a lengthy melee against more organised or professional enemy warriors, they will soon break and flee. |
