Eastern Small Town (Salt)

Apulii Extraordinarii
(Apulian Heavy Infantry)

Disciplined, highly skilled, and carrying the best equipment available, these Apulians usually fight with a sword, but have one or two additional spears for throwing between engagements. These troops are former extraordinarii in Roman service, mostly from Apulia and Calabria, who now serve as mercenaries.""

Kampanioi Hoplitai
(Campanian Hoplites)

These men are typical hoplites, wearing feathered or crested helmets, along with greaves and breastplates. Their weapons include the dory, xiphos, and the classic large aspis shield. However, they are more mobile than classic hoplites, useful as flanking heavy infantry rather than a central phalanx unit.

Taurisci Securiferi
(Taurisci Axemen)

One of the last Ligurian tribes to survive the Boii and Gallic invasions and assimilation, the Taurisci survive in central Italy. Seen as barbarians by the Romans and most of the southern Italic civilisations, they are equipped with a scutum, javelins, and a deadly light axe, similar to the Illyrian and Venetian tribes. These axemen are renowned as assault infantry.

(Kartvelian Levy Spearmen)

These men are typical of the Caucasians who emerge from their mountains to raid the more fertile lowlands. To outsiders, the hillmen are a wild savage people, but they are also skilled hunters, making them superb ambushers. Armed with spears, swords, and round shields, they are a valuable addition to many forces.

(Kartvelian Slingers)

Slingers are highly skilled missile troops, but are at a huge disadvantage in hand-to-hand combat, especially against cavalry. They can maintain a sustained and concentrated barrage on enemies, and then fall back rapidly to avoid hand-to-hand combat.
