Barbarische Stadt (Seide)

Most armies use poorly equipped levies as skirmishers, very often as javelinmen, since these troops require relatively little training and financial investment, relying mostly on widespread natural skills and scant gear. |

Kavallerie / Geschosskavallerie / (AOR_26_Yuezhi_Archers) Jamsya Yukhuna Duna Purma (Yuezhi Horse Archers) These horsemen make up the backbone of the Yuezhi cavalry, as horse-archers. As such, they are armed with extremely powerful composite bows of the asymmetrical, or "Hunnic" style. Their qualities as archers are offset by their performance in melee, as they are lightly armed and wear little to no armour. Used wisely, these mounted archers are a danger to any ill-prepared enemy. |

Kavallerie / Nahkampfkavallerie / (AOR_5_Germanic_Cavalry) Reidonez (Germanic Cavalry) Reidonez ride small and sometimes poor quality horses, though they are excellent light cavalry. They are useful as scouts as well as skirmishers. However, like many Germanic warriors, they can lack battle-discipline and be overeager to enter battle against worthy opponents. This can lead them to be headstrong and difficult to restrain before a fight, as personal glory gained in battle is always welcome. Honour and standing come from fighting, and sometimes the urge for glory overwhelms their good sense! |

Nahkampfinfanterie / Speerinfanterie / (Ibe_Callaeci_Medium_Inf) Callaecae Roscaithera (Gallaeci Medium Infantry) Proud, skilled, and bold, these troops are a fearful sight for any enemy. Wearing bronze helmets, scale armour woven into hardened leather, bronze forearm protection, and bronze Ocreas, these men have as their main weapons the spear, the Soliferrum (a full-metal heavy javelin) and the Gladius Hispaniensis. |

Nahkampfinfanterie / Nahkampfinfanterie / (Ibe_Lusotannan_Berserkers) Arti (Lusitani Bear Warriors) These men are small in number, but they serve an important purpose on the battlefield. Their weapons, skill, and fair quality armour allow them to be used as strong anti-armour infantry. |

Nahkampfinfanterie / Nahkampfinfanterie / (Ibe_Lusotannan_Heavy_Infantry) Catuni (Lusitani Heavy Infantry) In times of peace, these men practice a kind of armed dance, similar to those practised in Britannia, which require a great deal of dexterity to do properly, effectively training them for combat. In war they march at an even step, and then raise a battle-song as they charge on their foe. |

Nahkampfinfanterie / Speerinfanterie / (Ibe_Lusotannan_Heavy_Spearmen) Dovideri (Lusitani Armoured Spearmen) The armour of these skilled men is better than their mostly lower class counterparts, as they can afford scale armour and bronze greaves. They also carry the famous Gladius Hispaniensis, a bunch of Soliferra javelins, the caetra shield, and a strong thrusting spear, making them excellent anti-infantry soldiers. |

Nahkampfinfanterie / Nahkampfinfanterie / (Ibe_Lusotannan_Light_Inf) Vaeirione (Lusitani Light Infantry) Vaeirione are the Lusitanian variant of the typical Caetrati found in all Iberian armies, and no less fierce than their Iberian brethren. They wear light quilted linen armour over tunics and thick cloaks, which also give a degree of protection. They wear a tough sinew and leather helmet called a "galea" and carry a bundle of javelins to throw before the melee. Their javelins make them ideal skirmishers, and their earth-toned clothing allows them to excel at ambushes. |

Nahkampfinfanterie / Speerinfanterie / (Ibe_Lusotannan_Light_Spearmen) Mebdie Hostate (Lusitani Light Spearmen) These troops are the semi-professional line infantry of the Lusotannan. They are relatively well-off, owning farmland and cattle, taking part in occasional mercenary service to pay for their equipment. They are equipped with light armour made of leather combined with a small bronze breastplate, a "galea" leather helmet and a rather large shield. Their armament includes a bundle of javelins and a sturdy spear. In battle they form a loose shieldwall that can stand up to most regular cavalry. |

Kavallerie / Nahkampfkavallerie / (Supply_Iberian) Baggage Train Baggage trains, if attached to an army, grant additional supplies for a limited number of turns, varying for each campaign based on turns per year. A baggage train can supply armies even under harsh weather conditions, and is vital for prolonged military campaigns. |
