Viele römische Schriftsteller versuchten, Kelten als grobes, einfaches Volk darzustellen, das außer Krieg nicht viel kannte. Gegenstände wie der Kessel von Gundestrup oder der Spiegel von Desborough weisen auf das Geschick der Kelten bei der Metallbearbeitung hin, ihr Auge für Kunst und ihre Fähigkeit, Geschichten durch Kunst zu erzählen. Die filigranen Details des Kessels blieben durch das Torfmoor, in dem er gefunden wurde, erhalten. Das Glas in den Augen der Figuren auf dem Kessel zeugt von der großartigen Kunstfertigkeit seiner Erschaffer.

However, being lightly protected themselves, their casualties will mount if they are engaged in a protracted melee.
