Pěchota pro boj zblízka / Pěchota s kopími / (AOR_1_Caledonian_Levies) Pictone Lugoae (Caledonian Levies) The Caledonians are a fierce people on the edge of the world. Beyond Caledonia stretches a great, empty ocean, and Caledonia itself is home to a rather isolated people. They are seemingly relics of a former era of Celtic history, they do not have great deals of iron, and so do not produce many swords. They instead fight with more practical weapons, spears, javelins, and slings. Balroae (Bal-ro-ee) are a vast number of men, of many ages and varying levels of experience. Seemingly fearless, and wild, their bodies are tattooed in esoteric spiral designs, their hair is spiked and red, and they are remarkably fearsome. They are very hardy and brave; their lifestyle demands it. Alone, a disciplined army would destroy them, but if incorporated into a more tactics minded commander, they may prove more useful. |

Pěchota pro boj zblízka / Pěchota s kopími / (AOR_11_Celtic_Levies) Lugoae Vocontae (Celtic Levies) During periods of strife and war, it is sometimes necessary to call upon ordinary citizens to organize as militia. Called Lugoae, militia in Celtic societies are farmers, craftsmen, fishermen, and so on, called to brief military service in periods of crisis. They may train a few times a year to fight, and games and sports encourage a decent level of physicality, but they're still only militia, and can only be trusted to do so much. |

Jízda / Kontaktní jízda / (AOR_11_Celtic_Light_Cavalry) Vocontae Epos (Vocontii Cavalry) Vocontae Epos constitute the bulk of Vocontii cavalry. Well-trained compared to many of their enemies’ cavalry, they are invaluable to any army. They throw javelins at a distance, depleting an enemy before charging with their main spears. They are trained to throw javelins, charge, and withdraw repeatedly, and they do it well. A bronze helmet, shield, and light weapons may not seem the equipment of any particularly great cavalry, but they are a solid medium cavalry force, capable of running down routers, defeating light cavalry, and skirmishing if necessary. |

Frije also means one's own, for to belong is to fulfill the duties of being free. |

Their contact with the Hellenic poleis made them well familiarized with the phalanx formation. These men are equipped with Phrygian helmets, padded leather armour and large oval shields. For weapons, they carry a spear and a sica into battle, similar to most Hellenic phalanx soldiers." |

Pěší střelci / Střelecká pěchota / (Dac_Skirm_ref) Komatai (Dacian Heavy Skirmishers) The Komatai, also called 'daoi' or 'wolves,' make up the bulk of the tribal forces of the Getae. They fight bare-headed to assure the gods of their fervor and willingness to arrive at their side. The Komatai go to battle wearing studded leather armour, trousers and a large oval shield. They also carry with them javelins and a sica. If forced into melee they can hold their own against other light and even some medium infantry. |
