建造望楼是诺斯卡最基本但也是最重要的防御战术。他们不用在这里装备飞斧或投枪，因为这些布置在城镇周围的望楼只用于发现靠近的敌军，而非作为防御塔使用。这些望楼通常能让上面的战士提前发现敌军的踪影，让他们有足够时间发出警报，然后爬下地面与同袍并肩作战。
