Galatian Legionaries

在凱爾特群落中，長劍是代表著很高價值和低微的武器。戰士需要在很多次戰鬥中證明自己才能在戰鬥中佩戴長劍。雙手長劍在公元前八世紀時就有了初步的發展，直到公元前450年，人們才又重新開始喜愛長劍。凱爾鐵人的煉鐵術要稍微落後與羅馬人：很顯然，在公元前225年損失慘重的特拉蒙戰役中，高盧長劍很容易就彎了，只有放到地上才能把它踩直。但從另一方面來說，自從凱爾特煉鐵術落後了幾個世紀，有人就認為羅馬把這種煉鐵術誤認為是一種「退役」儀式，只能做出一種會被打敗的、不受尊敬或是被損壞的武器。
