Illyrian Light Cavalry

Drawn from the Adriatic coast, these light troops are effective scouts and provide a passable screening force for Epirote armies. Their lack of armor and lances makes them best suited for running down missile troops or fleeing enemies rather than engaging in the melee or facing down enemy cavalry. Historically, while the region was not known its equine stock, Illyria supplied small units of scouting cavalry to Rome after the region was pacified in 168BC.
