Salt Kiln

一些鹽很有用途，很多鹽就有利可圖。

鹽，對於許多與古希臘、古羅馬人通商的部落來說，是極有價值的商品。考古學家通過一種制鹽工藝中殘留下來的廢棄物來夠識別出高產鹽地帶。古代的鹽生產離不開陶器,將鹽水加入到這些陶器中，使之能夠脫水,進而形成鹽塊。然後,把這些罐子打碎以得到鹽塊,同時就形成了大量得制鹽陶器碎片。最近在博依阿納斯拉蒂內考古遺址處，位於羅馬尼亞的倫卡附近的一處咸水泉的發現表明了早在公元前6050年左右，當地的新石器時代居民們就開始用煮沸的富含鹽分的泉水的方法提取鹽了,這個發現使得這裡成為已知的世界上最古老的制鹽工作發祥地。
