骑兵马厩

轻骑兵在东方的国家和草原民族中极其常见。从希腊轻装甲骑兵、西徐亚人到萨卡弓骑兵的所有轻骑兵，速度就是他们的防御手段。他们依赖于他们坐骑的机动力和耐力，这些坐骑主要是波斯马，也有更小但更灵活的亚美尼亚品种，当然也包括独峰驼和双峰驼。他们常被委以巡逻贸易路线和保护无人看守的边境的任务，战时也会充当侦察兵和包抄侧翼的部队，这些部队很有价值。
