迦太基人是古代世界里最勇敢无畏的水手，精于造船和航行，每遇陆战只以雇佣兵应对。随着迦太基贸易量的增长，运送士兵的需求大增，掌握制海权亦愈发重要起来。他们造出由划桨手操控的巨型战舰，并效仿希腊式的三桡战船，造出五桡和七桡战船，作撞击之用。即便如此，古代世界最大的舰船却是由阿基米德设计、希罗二世国王建造于公元前240年的“叙拉古西亚”号。其建造过程耗费了普通三桡战船六十倍的资源，三百名熟练工匠用一年多的时间才将其建成

Ideal for use in raiding and coastal patrol, this ship would soon be adopted by Rome and become the most common ship in later Roman fleets. (Dacian Axemen) Aside from their large contingents of Drapanai, the Pelekuphoroi are the common warriors of the Karp and Kostobok tribes. They wield bronze axes and have sturdy round shields. Their scale leather provides adequate protection against Scythian arrows and Bastarnae spears but will do little to stop a heavy, curved falx blade. These fast, hardy troops are best used in ambushes, hit-and-run attacks, or flanking manoeuvres against heavier warriors, but are fierce enough to stand in the battle line if the situation demands it.
