艺术的眼光总能看到利益之所在

很多罗马作家试图把凯尔特人描述成一种除了战争啥也不会的野蛮民族。当描述波河流域的凯尔特人时，波里比阿评论说：“他们的生活是很简单的，他们没有任何艺术或科学知识。”不过多亏有了考古发现，让我们知道这是对一个非常复杂的社会的简单误读，特别是遍布欧洲的美丽的凯尔特艺术品更是告诉了我们一个完全不同的故事。像“刚德斯特尔普大锅”和“德斯伯勒镜”显示了凯尔特人出色的金属加工能力，艺术的眼光，以及通过艺术叙事的能力。刚德斯特尔普大锅以及它表面无比精湛的细节潜藏在深埋它的沼泽中。而用在人像眼中的玻璃，则向我们展示了制造他的男人神魔一般优秀的艺术和工艺能力。
