Лошади для кельтов имели огромное значение, как практическое, так и символическое. Многие римские историки признавали, что кельты - прекрасные всадники и что лучшая конница в римской армии - это кельты-наемники. В надежде перенять их знания и умения, римляне даже начали почитать кельтскую богиню лошадей. Эпона - одна из немногих божеств, принятых римским пантеоном практически без изменений. Впрочем, со временем из богини лошадей Эпона превратилась в покровительницу всех, кто работал с этими животными. Она стала очень популярной среди римских всадников, которые принесли ее культ и в другие области Европы.

1	120	Кавалерия / Стрелки-всадники / (Dac_Horse_Archers) Getikoi Hippotoxotai (Dacian Horse Archers) The Getae horse archers have a long and proud tradition, having developed superb skills in confrontations with the Scythians and Sarmatians. These warriors are not drawn from every Getic tribe, but from the tribes living in the Danube delta or from the Agathyrsoi living inside the arch of the Karpathes. The Hellenes called all men living in modern-day Romania and northern Bulgaria for Getai after this tribe, while the Romans called them Dacians, which is the norm today.

They ride into battle in studded leather armour and trousers, and carry javelins and short swords. Their nimble horses allow for very good performance in any type of terrain; they are often used to screen flanks and pursue broken enemy formations.

They often form the main volunteer force for pillaging raids. Attached to the Getic nobility, these warriors often have better equipment than their fellow Getic warriors. They are armoured with chainmail and large oval shields. They carry a spear and the sica blade. They are fearsome, well-armoured, all-round cavalry that look upon war as a class affair.

4	175	Стрелки-пехотинцы / Стрелки-пехотинцы / (Dac_Slingers) Komatai Sphendonetai (Dacian Slingers) These skirmishers are a valuable addition to any Dacian army and can perform superbly in rough terrain. They carry no armour to speak of, except small round shields, and are armed with slings and a dagger. They are usually very young men and their role is merely to try and force the enemy into acting rashly; however, troops lacking armour can still pay dearly facing when them.
