Massalia (Occupied)
Gateway to Gaul.

Piechota do walki w zwarciu / Piechota z włóczniami / (AOR_11_Celtic_Levies) Lugoae Vocontae (Celtic Levies) During periods of strife and war, it is sometimes necessary to call upon ordinary citizens to organize as militia. Called Lugoae, militia in Celtic societies are farmers, craftsmen, fishermen, and so on, called to brief military service in periods of crisis. They may train a few times a year to fight, and games and sports encourage a decent level of physicality, but they're still only militia, and can only be trusted to do so much. |

Jazda / Jazda do walki w zwarciu / (AOR_11_Celtic_Light_Cavalry) Vocontae Epos (Vocontii Cavalry) Vocontae Epos constitute the bulk of Vocontii cavalry. Well-trained compared to many of their enemies’ cavalry, they are invaluable to any army. They throw javelins at a distance, depleting an enemy before charging with their main spears. They are trained to throw javelins, charge, and withdraw repeatedly, and they do it well. A bronze helmet, shield, and light weapons may not seem the equipment of any particularly great cavalry, but they are a solid medium cavalry force, capable of running down routers, defeating light cavalry, and skirmishing if necessary. |

Piechota do walki w zwarciu / Piechota do walki w zwarciu / (AOR_11_Celto_Hellenic_Infantry) Keltohellenikoi Thorakitai (Celto-Hellenic Infantry) These shock infantry are Celto-Hellenic 'men-at-arms,' Celtic warriors of a mixed culture. While they are not of especially great station, they are capable warriors fighting in the Celtic manner, in a motley combination of Hellenic and Celtic gear and dress: long Celtic shields, a Greek helmet, a Celtic sword, and javelins. They soften up an opponent with their javelins and charge an enemy once they're weakened with the great force of Celtic warriors. |

Piechota miotająca / Piechota miotająca / (Ger_scandinavian_Skirmishers) Sitones Swajut (Scandinavian Skirmishers) The Sitones are a Germanic or Finnic people who reside just above the Suiones (Swedes). It is said that these people are very much like the Suiones, except they are ruled by a woman, which goes against the Germanic custom. Each warrior is armed with a bundle of throwing spears, a slightly longer spear for melee, and a stout ovular shield, but they do not wear armour. |

Piechota do walki w zwarciu / Piechota z włóczniami / (Ger_scandinavian_Spearmen) Suiones Druhtiz (Scandinavian Spearmen) From lands with a harsh climate in eastern Svealand, these people are accustomed to fighting every day for their own survival. In warfare it is up to each man to prove his own bravery and worth, so their uniquely savage charge into the enemy enables them to perform slightly better than their neighbours in that respect. |

Piechota do walki w zwarciu / Piechota do walki w zwarciu / (Ger_Sloxonez) Slaganz (Germanic Clubmen) Although the club is a crude and primitive weapon, it is still widely used by many nations throughout the known world. A club is efficient against shields, and especially any unit in a shieldwall, the most common tactic of any Celtic army. Suebi clubmen use a light, one-handed club, so they can carry and throw javelins at the same time. |

Piechota do walki w zwarciu / Piechota z pikami / (Ger_Speudogordoz) Markamannoz Speutagardaz (Markamannoz Pikemen) The Markamannoz are a famous tribe, warlike but organised on the battlefield. Among the elites, they have famous spearmen, the Speutagardaz. They are skilled enough to form impressive shieldwalls with five meter long spears, a rather unusual feature. Speutagardaz use long spears with a short and narrow head. They are well equipped, probably having light axes, reinforced leather armor, and a leather and scale helmet, which is lighter and cheaper than the usual iron helmet, but highly protective. |
