マッシュリ (Hannibal at the Gates) 小さな街 (革) Level 1
東方の小村 (革)
A small community founded for common goals and in shared beliefs.Small farming settlements were the backbone of ancient civilisations in the east, feeding the great cities such as Antioch and Seleucia. Situated to exploit good land, fishing, mining or quarrying, defence was often too expensive to be more than a secondary consideration. As the populations of the great cities increased, surplus food from these farming communities became essential. As small military garrisons were positioned to protect valuable resources and trade routes, there was a slow growth of many hamlets into towns, as people and trade passed.

Melee Infantry / 槍歩兵 / (AOR_1_Caledonian_Levies) Pictone Lugoae (Caledonian Levies) The Caledonians are a fierce people on the edge of the world. Beyond Caledonia stretches a great, empty ocean, and Caledonia itself is home to a rather isolated people. They are seemingly relics of a former era of Celtic history, they do not have great deals of iron, and so do not produce many swords. They instead fight with more practical weapons, spears, javelins, and slings. Balroae (Bal-ro-ee) are a vast number of men, of many ages and varying levels of experience. Seemingly fearless, and wild, their bodies are tattooed in esoteric spiral designs, their hair is spiked and red, and they are remarkably fearsome. They are very hardy and brave; their lifestyle demands it. Alone, a disciplined army would destroy them, but if incorporated into a more tactics minded commander, they may prove more useful. |

Melee Infantry / 槍歩兵 / (AOR_16_Garamantine_Levies) Dorkim Garamantim (Garamantine Levies) Garamantine warriors are masters of hit and run tactics. Launching raids from their oasis strongholds, they attack towns, outposts, watchtowers, and nomadic tribes. They fight first with throwing spears and javelins, but can fight in close combat when necessary with their spears and leather shields. They wear a cow skin cloak for protection from dangers on the battlefield as well as from the environment. |

Missile Infantry / 飛び道具歩兵 / (AOR_27_Subeshi_Archers) Paya Hinam Dunai Purma (Subeshi Archers) These archers wear a felt helmet, leather leggings, and a thick sheepskin coat with the wool turned inside-out, and carry a recurved composite bow. The bows they carry are a larger version of the Scythian recurved composite bow, enabling them to outrange, outshoot, and outpower other steppe nomad horse archers, making these foot bowmen the ideal counter to horse archers in a stationary exchange of missiles. |

Melee Infantry / 槍歩兵 / (AOR_5_Germanic_Levies) Gaizoz Frije (Germanic Levies) Gaizoz Frije, whose name also means “Free Spears,” are composed largely of local farmers and hunters, Germanic freemen of the lowest rank, accustomed to frequent raids and tribal warfare from a young age. According to Germanic tradition, as soon as these men receive their gaizaz (spear) and skelduz (shield), they are frije (free) adults, charged with equal shares and responsibilities in the tribe. Frije also means one's own, for to belong is to fulfill the duties of being free. |

Cavalry / 近接騎兵 / (Supply_Numidian) Baggage Train Baggage trains, if attached to an army, grant additional supplies for a limited number of turns, varying for each campaign based on turns per year. A baggage train can supply armies even under harsh weather conditions, and is vital for prolonged military campaigns. Nomadic baggage trains gain additional global food supplies from foraging. |
