Borgo orientale (cuoio)

Fanteria corpo a corpo / Fanteria con lancia / (AOR_1_Caledonian_Levies) Pictone Lugoae (Caledonian Levies) The Caledonians are a fierce people on the edge of the world. Beyond Caledonia stretches a great, empty ocean, and Caledonia itself is home to a rather isolated people. They are seemingly relics of a former era of Celtic history, they do not have great deals of iron, and so do not produce many swords. They instead fight with more practical weapons, spears, javelins, and slings. Balroae (Bal-ro-ee) are a vast number of men, of many ages and varying levels of experience. Seemingly fearless, and wild, their bodies are tattooed in esoteric spiral designs, their hair is spiked and red, and they are remarkably fearsome. They are very hardy and brave; their lifestyle demands it. Alone, a disciplined army would destroy them, but if incorporated into a more tactics minded commander, they may prove more useful. |

Fanteria corpo a corpo / Fanteria con lancia / (AOR_16_Garamantine_Levies) Dorkim Garamantim (Garamantine Levies) Garamantine warriors are masters of hit and run tactics. Launching raids from their oasis strongholds, they attack towns, outposts, watchtowers, and nomadic tribes. They fight first with throwing spears and javelins, but can fight in close combat when necessary with their spears and leather shields. They wear a cow skin cloak for protection from dangers on the battlefield as well as from the environment. |

Fanteria da tiro / Fanteria da tiro / (AOR_27_Subeshi_Archers) Paya Hinam Dunai Purma (Subeshi Archers) These archers wear a felt helmet, leather leggings, and a thick sheepskin coat with the wool turned inside-out, and carry a recurved composite bow. The bows they carry are a larger version of the Scythian recurved composite bow, enabling them to outrange, outshoot, and outpower other steppe nomad horse archers, making these foot bowmen the ideal counter to horse archers in a stationary exchange of missiles. |

Fanteria corpo a corpo / Fanteria con lancia / (AOR_5_Germanic_Levies) Gaizoz Frije (Germanic Levies) Gaizoz Frije, whose name also means “Free Spears,” are composed largely of local farmers and hunters, Germanic freemen of the lowest rank, accustomed to frequent raids and tribal warfare from a young age. According to Germanic tradition, as soon as these men receive their gaizaz (spear) and skelduz (shield), they are frije (free) adults, charged with equal shares and responsibilities in the tribe. Frije also means one's own, for to belong is to fulfill the duties of being free. |

Fanteria corpo a corpo / Fanteria con lancia / (kar_levy_spear) Spa (Kartvelian Levy Spearmen) These men are typical of the Caucasians who emerge from their mountains to raid the more fertile lowlands. To outsiders, the hillmen are a wild savage people, but they are also skilled hunters, making them superb ambushers. Armed with spears, swords, and round shields, they are a valuable addition to many forces. |

Fanteria da tiro / Fanteria da tiro / (kar_slinger) Meshurduleni (Kartvelian Slingers) Slingers are highly skilled missile troops, but are at a huge disadvantage in hand-to-hand combat, especially against cavalry. They can maintain a sustained and concentrated barrage on enemies, and then fall back rapidly to avoid hand-to-hand combat. |
