Infantería cuerpo a cuerpo / Infantería con lanza / (AOR_1_Caledonian_Levies) Pictone Lugoae (Caledonian Levies) The Caledonians are a fierce people on the edge of the world. Beyond Caledonia stretches a great, empty ocean, and Caledonia itself is home to a rather isolated people. They are seemingly relics of a former era of Celtic history, they do not have great deals of iron, and so do not produce many swords. They instead fight with more practical weapons, spears, javelins, and slings. Balroae (Bal-ro-ee) are a vast number of men, of many ages and varying levels of experience. Seemingly fearless, and wild, their bodies are tattooed in esoteric spiral designs, their hair is spiked and red, and they are remarkably fearsome. They are very hardy and brave; their lifestyle demands it. Alone, a disciplined army would destroy them, but if incorporated into a more tactics minded commander, they may prove more useful. |

Infantería de proyectiles / Infantería de proyectiles / (AOR_10_Dart_Slingers) Kestrosphendones (Dart Slingers) The kestros is a dart thrown by a specially made sling, or propelled by a staff on a sling. It takes a long time to reload, but allows for more deadly and accurate shots than any other weapon of the time if correctly used, thanks to the shape of the darts, which can fly straight and precise trajectories. This weapon is mentioned in a Polybian account about new weapons in the army of Perseus, shortly before the last open confrontation between the Macedonians and the Roman Republic (169-168 BCE)."""" |

Infantería cuerpo a cuerpo / Infantería cuerpo a cuerpo / (AOR_10_Sicily_Bruttian_Infantry) Pezoi Brettioi (Bruttian Infantry) The Bruttii come from the southern extremity of Italy. These Bruttian troops are dependable medium infantry. They carry two pila, which they throw before engaging in close combat with their swords. They are well armoured with a variety of bronze pectorales, typical of the Oscan warrior class. Their helmets show Greek and Italian influence, known as Italo-Attic. They fought for Pyrrhus during his invasion of Italy. |

Infantería cuerpo a cuerpo / Infantería con lanza / (AOR_11_Celtic_Levies) Lugoae Vocontae (Celtic Levies) During periods of strife and war, it is sometimes necessary to call upon ordinary citizens to organize as militia. Called Lugoae, militia in Celtic societies are farmers, craftsmen, fishermen, and so on, called to brief military service in periods of crisis. They may train a few times a year to fight, and games and sports encourage a decent level of physicality, but they're still only militia, and can only be trusted to do so much. |

Caballería / Caballería cuerpo a cuerpo / (AOR_11_Celtic_Light_Cavalry) Vocontae Epos (Vocontii Cavalry) Vocontae Epos constitute the bulk of Vocontii cavalry. Well-trained compared to many of their enemies’ cavalry, they are invaluable to any army. They throw javelins at a distance, depleting an enemy before charging with their main spears. They are trained to throw javelins, charge, and withdraw repeatedly, and they do it well. A bronze helmet, shield, and light weapons may not seem the equipment of any particularly great cavalry, but they are a solid medium cavalry force, capable of running down routers, defeating light cavalry, and skirmishing if necessary. |

For weapons, they use javelins and a longsword, most likely imported from Gaul through the Greek colony of Emporion. Greek and Phoenician elements are also abundant in their culture, foreign motifs being common in their art. While not an elite contingent in the Ilergetan army, these troops are good quality. They are brave and relatively well-equipped, dependable line infantry. |

Infantería cuerpo a cuerpo / Infantería con pica / (AOR_9_Campanian_Hoplites) Kampanioi Hoplitai (Campanian Hoplites) These men are typical hoplites, wearing feathered or crested helmets, along with greaves and breastplates. Their weapons include the dory, xiphos, and the classic large aspis shield. However, they are more mobile than classic hoplites, useful as flanking heavy infantry rather than a central phalanx unit. |

Infantería cuerpo a cuerpo / Infantería cuerpo a cuerpo / (Cel_Kluddacorii) Kluddacorii (Alpine Sword Band) Tribes from the Alps and some nearby territories have swordsmen of their own, the Kluddacorii (Klod-ah-kur-ee-eye; Sword-Band"). These men often wear little in a battle, removing anything that might be a hindrance (with the exception of their trousers and shoes). After throwing their javelins, they make use of a powerful charge in an attempt to overwhelm enemy positions or force gaps in their lines. Warriors from these tribes are high-spirited and very eager to fight given the chance. As such, they have good morale, but their lack of armour can be detrimental in a prolonged engagement, or if they are flanked." |

Infantería cuerpo a cuerpo / Infantería cuerpo a cuerpo / (Cel_Tekastos) Tekastos (Alpine Axemen) The Raetians are a very bizarre Alpine people. They often raid and in doing so regularly instil anger within the hearts of their Celtic neighbors. The Tekastos (tek-as-tus; Axe Carriers") form the basic warbands of the Raetians. They carry a Raetian battle axe to crush armour, and possess two javelins similar to Italic pila. They wear linen armour of Etruscan design, as well as a helmet. Brandishing weapons that allow them to stand against heavily armoured enemies, these sturdy, unique warbands can be very useful as shock troops" |
