This army is typically wielded by Tarantine generals. Though cavalry-light, its elite Spartan-trained hoplites and Lucanian armored infantry are sturdy enough to withstand nearly anything. Tarantine Peltasts and veteran Lucanian skirmishers allow for either the advance or safe withdrawal of the infantry. Lightly armed hoplites and javelin-wielding medium cavalry can also join the van-or-rearguard of the Tarantine army.
