暗精靈軍隊主要是由一群極盡無情的士兵組成，他們一生都在納伽洛西城裡扭曲的街道中掙扎求生，從而習得了殺戮的技巧。這種戰士大多是被徵召入伍，但也有少數人是自願前來的，因為他們發現了一些從戰鬥中牟利的訣竅。許多暗精靈捨棄近戰武器，偏愛從遠處殺敵。黑矢射手的武器是連射弩，這種武器以箭匣供箭，能夠射出一陣猛烈的箭雨。他們能在戰場後方就定位，朝來襲的敵人射出一波波的鐵簇箭，也能向前移動，在暗精靈衝入敵陣前，先以一片箭海削弱敵軍戰線。雖然黑矢射手常因不喜愛近距離戰鬥而遭受其他戰士的鄙夷，但他們仍然堅定地以自己的射擊技術為榮，而其性格也絕不比其他戰士溫和。黑矢射手經常會故意放棄射擊眼睛或心臟，轉而射擊腹部或其他重要部位，雖然同樣致命，但這樣的攻擊會確保敵人死前的最後片刻會在劇痛與呻吟中度過。
