Tiger Guard

All will fight in the defence of their leader, but others will fight all the more fiercely to avenge them.

For the warlord who thrives in the heat of battle, at the head of the charge, only the most elite soldiers can be chosen to fight alongside him. To the bitter end, these warriors will fight for their lord, and then beyond.

Not even the death of their lord can stay their fury; if anything, these warriors will fight ever-more fanatically to avenge a fallen master than when he lived.

Unit Abilities

  • Caltrops
    Simple nut husks, once trodden upon, cause extreme pain and slow movement.
  • Guard
    Everyone is safe when this one is present. It's the one thing you can rely upon when all else is bogged down in murky politics.
  • Miasma
    The dense and tough undergrowth that plagues the jungles of the South is a hindrance to all those who try to penetrate into the heartlands of the Nanman.
  • Circle
    The unit forms into a tight circle, presenting a defensive front from any angle.
  • Loose
    The unit spreads apart, making it more difficult for arrows to hit them.
  • Shield Wall (Spear)
    The unit presents a wall of shields to the enemy - an offensive formation best used to push forward under arrow fire.
  • Turtle
    The unit presents its shields around and above, severely limiting its movement but making it almost impenetrable to missile attack.

Attributes

  • CHARGE REFLECTION VS. MOUNTED
    Reflects the charge damage of any mounted attacker back onto them when braced.
  • HIDE IN FOREST
    Can hide in forests.
  • IMMUNE TO SCARE
    Immune to scare effects.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Role: frontline
    Frontline units are tough and able to withstand a beating; they will hold to the end, while others around flee. They are also adept at charging into enemy frontline units.
  • Good against mounted
    This unit is trained to fight against mounted enemies.
  • Blocks melee attacks
    This unit is highly skilled in parrying and dodging incoming melee attacks.
