What history remembers is the victory: the bravery on the battlefield and the enemy crushed into the dirt.
However, less exciting though it may be, the unseen infrastructure that supports an army is as important as the soldiers who fight in its ranks. Weapons must be crafted, issued, and repaired, and in order to consolidate their advance, the army must build as it conquers.
Whilst these background processes remain unseen and seamless, they can be assumed to be working well, but an unpleasant surprise awaits any general who lets them fail!
