We derive sustenance from the earth, and so understanding its intricacies is vital. So thought Fan Shengzhi, who codified his thinking into 'The Book of Fan Shengzhi', a detailed document of agricultural practices that has become a manual of sorts for those toiling the field.

It contains information on both basic farming theory, whilst also detailing more specific crops, from wheat to mulberries. Fan Shengzhi relates all of this relative to yin and yang, imploring us to seek balance and harmony, working with the earth for our benefit.
