Agricultural Tax Relief

The Han live by a mantra; when the peasant thrives, so too does China. The farmers who toil the fields are required to give either tax or a share of their harvest as tithes to the landowner.

Despite this, the state ensures that agriculture is taxed as little as possible. This is a noble principle, yet avaricious magnates will always be able to twist government generosity to benefit their own determined greed.
