To live by the sea is an advantage that should be exploited.

This district is near to a port or river, and thus a pier can be built to take full advantage of maritime commerce.

Piers allow for fishing and the docking of small boats for trade going in or out of a village, increasing its income and naturally providing more work for the local populace as well.

In time, if developed, having a pier could change a village into a fully-fledged maritime city.
