Grove of Thana
The hunter is always welcome in Thana's house.Thana is believed to be the wife of Vidasus and her links to equivalents within the Roman pantheon are subject to the same historical debate. Some argue that she was associated with the Roman goddess of the hunt, Diana, where others suggest that she was simply a local Illyrian goddess, only worshipped in the areas around Topuska. Like Diana, many surviving images depict her accompanied by nymphs. However, the only other evidence connecting the two goddesses, apart from the proximity of their shrines, is that both had a male consort who appeared to fulfil a similar role. As the goddess of the hunt, there are a number of myths attached to Diana that teach the importance of respect for the divine. One such story tells that when Diana caught a young huntsman by the name of Actaeon watching her bathe she turned him in to a stag, after which he was promptly torn to pieces by his own hunting hounds.
