This is my second variation on my ultimate Scottish army.

The front line consists of noble pikemen and noble swordsmen. The pikemen hold fast in one place and the swordsmen in between them have some manouvrability.

the second line consists of noble highland archers, these guys will be invaulable when versing horse archer armies and when defending in the siege. There is the added bonus that they carry axes so can enter into meelee should the front line begin to waver.

the general and culverins are placed behind the archers. Culverin are great long range threats and are really necessary in a seige.

Your gallogliach are placed next to your archers ready to flank the moment the enemiy engages your front line. If you cannot hire these guys then highland nobles will also do the job quite well.

In my campaign, most of my cities had a Knights templar chapter house and london had the headquarters, so these guys were pretty widespread throughout my empire. They supply the heavy cavalry that scotland seems to be lacking. They are to be placed on the wings as flankers but if the need should arise they should be sent to deal with the enemies artillery in a fast and effective manor.

This army is unbeatable in theory. In reality i have had great success against overwhelming odds, so please try it out and enjoy. :)
