Celestial Dragon Crossbowmen

Only the Celestial Host enjoy the greatest armaments of the Dragon Empire, for only they can guarantee victory upon the field of battle.

The Celestial Dragon Guard are the personal bodyguard of the Dragon Emperor and Empress, and form the Celestial Host – the greatest soldiers in all Cathay. As the most elite warriors in the empire, they enjoy the finest weapons and armour and are almost always led by a member of the Dragon-blooded. The Dragon Crossbows of the Celestial High Guard are the work of Grand Cathay’s master weaponsmiths. They are massive repeating weapons, able to lay down a steady stream of heavy bolts.

Attributes

  • Hide (forest)
This unit can hide in forests until enemy units get too close.
  • Yin
This unit counts as a Yin unit for the purpose of Battle Harmony proximity.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Harmony: Yin
This unit counts as a Yin unit and gains increased reload skill and leadership near Yang units.
  • Armoured & Shielded
Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Armour-Piercing damage. Shields have a chance of blocking arrows, bolts, rifle shots and similar small arms fire - but only in a forward facing arc.
  • Armour-Piercing Missiles
The damage of armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
