Deathshrieker Rocket Launcher

Handle this devastating projectile weapon with extreme care, for the fire-spirits it unleashes are undiscerning, and will devour the Dawi-Zharr just as easily as their unfortunate foes.

The Deathshrieker Rocket Launcher is one of the most diabolic and destructive weapons ever created, for bound within its munitions are howling, malevolent fire-spirits harvested from the cinders of Hashut's sacrificial altars, and it is the hellish shrieking of these spirits when loosed that gives the weapon its name. The Chaos Dwarfs utilise a number of these different types of gunpowder-driven rocket weapons, ranging from shoulder-fired chain-dragging harpoons used to bind and bring down Lava Trolls in the magma caverns deep beneath the mountains, to massive warheads launched on pillars of fire to break enemy fortifications. The packed, multiple warheads of the Deathshrieker detonate in the air above the battlefield in a storm of fire – fire which has its own terrible hunger for life. Screaming, fanged tendrils of flame plunge downwards, actively seeking out victims. The tormented spirits are far from discerning as to whose flesh they burn, and the Chaos Dwarfs must be cautious in its use, lest their own suffer from such a wrathful weapon.

Abilities

  • Hellbound
Some war machines have Daemons of fury and destruction bound to their very frame and bolt, creating something even more bloodthirsty than their creators, and much more difficult to destroy.

Attributes

  • Contempt
Witnessing other friendly units rout will only affect this unit's leadership if they also have the Contempt attribute.
  • Hell-Forged
This unit can be restored in battle by the Daemonsmith's Reforge ability.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Armoured
Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Armour-Piercing damage.
  • Hell-Forged
This unit can be restored in battle by the Daemonsmith's Reforge ability.
  • Armour-Piercing
The damage of armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
  • Collision Attacks
This unit deals additional attacks when colliding with enemies when charging.
