Chosen of the Gods (Ushabti - Great Bow)

Bearing the faces of Nehekhara’s illustrious pantheon, these Ushabti use spear-sized arrows – and the fear of the gods – to strike at the unfortunate foe.

The Ushabti are large, guardian statues carved into the likeness of the gods and goddess of ancient Nehekhara, statues that stand guard and protect the perimeters of the necropolises and within the passageways of the great pyramids of the Tomb Kings. These Ushabti are imposing monuments to Nehekhara's former power, and all who pass through their shadows tremble under their unnerving and imposing sight. In times of need, the Liche Priests awaken the Ushabti with powerful incantations, and with the sound of cracking stone, the Ushabti step down from their plinths and daises, silent and ready for war. In ancient times, the living warriors of Nehekhara took great strength from the fact that the Ushabti fought alongside, for who could fail to be inspired by the physical representations of their gods marching into battle at their sides.

Abilities

  • Disintegrating
The Dark Magic that holds these subjects together has failed. As the necromantic energy flows out of them, nothing is left but a pile of iron and bones in the sand.
  • Crumbling
In the blasted desert of deepest Nehekhara, the dead rarely remain so. Those dragged back to screaming, clanking Unlife are bound forever to the Tomb King whose will they exist only to serve.

Attributes

  • Causes Fear
This unit frightens all enemy units, reducing their leadership when nearby. It is also immune to fear. Fear penalties do not stack.
  • Construct
This unit is an animated construct (does not rout, is immune to terror, becomes unstable when Leadership is low). Necrotects can push it to its full combat potential and restore it in battle.
  • Hide (forest)
This unit can hide in forests until enemy units get too close.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Shieldbreaker
This unit’s shield-breaking attacks can significantly weaken the target’s chance of blocking missile attacks.
  • Armoured
Armoured units can block damage from any source apart from Armour-Piercing damage.
  • Armour-Piercing Missiles
The damage of armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
  • Anti-Infantry
Anti-infantry units have an advantage against targets that are smaller than a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against small targets, superior weight used to smash through lighter enemies, or an explosive attack from range that effects a large area.
