Gotrek

Even the deadliest duels deny Gotrek the death he so craves, making him both the greatest and worst Dwarf Slayer there's ever been.

For the Dwarf Slayer Gotrek Gurnisson, only death will serve as atonement for his past sins. Fate has been cruel, for his continual failure to achieve the ultimate doom he craves has led him to deadlier and deadlier encounters, each time ending in the vanquishing of a seemingly insurmountable enemy in a monumental duel. In Gotrek’s time wandering the world, he has slain some of the world’s most dangerous foes, including brutish Orcs, pernicious Skaven, Giants, Trolls, Dragons, Sorcerers of Chaos, Dark Elf Corsairs and many, many more. Though his history before becoming a mohawked Slayer is a mystery even to those closest to him, it is certain that many more enemies of the Forces of Order will be cut down by the blade of his mighty Rune Axe before the day of his doom – if ever it comes, of course!

Abilities

  • Gotrek's Doom
    By which the Dwarf Slayer and his mannish chronicler are protected from magical harm, forcing the foe into single combat they have little chance of surviving.
  • Heroic Fortitude
    Despite involving himself in the most dangerous situations imaginable, and against the Slayer's suicidally-brave will, Gotrek is made of sterner stuff even than others of his kind and can survive any hand-to-hand encounter.
  • Deadly Onslaught
    Such is the power and ferocity of the champion, that those who stand in his way will falter against the warrior's impact.
  • Foe-Seeker
    There are those who wish nothing more than to be at the heart of battle, seeking foes to vanquish.
  • Deathblow
    Such is the strength within this warrior that when they strike it is sure to be a deathblow!

Attributes

  • Charge Defence vs. Large
    When bracing, this unit negates the charge bonus of any large attacker.
  • Encourage
    This unit provides a Lord's aura and an encouraging unit will receive the larger of the two bonuses.
  • Hide (forest)
    This unit can hide in forests until enemy units get too close.
  • Unbreakable
    This unit does not suffer any form of leadership loss and will never rout.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Armour-Piercing
    The damage of armour-piercing weapons mostly ignores the armour of the target, making them the ideal choice against heavily-armoured enemies. They are often heavier and attack at a slower rate though, making them less efficient against poorly-armoured targets.
  • Anti-Large
    Anti-large units have an advantage against targets that are at least as large as a horse. This advantage can be a damage bonus against large targets or an attack that focuses on a very small area. However, some units are simply better against large targets because their attacks are slow and easy to dodge by skilled melee combatants.
  • Unbreakable
    This unit does not suffer any form of leadership loss and will never rout.
  • Melee Expert
    Melee Experts might have a very strong Charge Defence. Use them to counter other strong melee units. When facing them, it is best to take them out before they can enter melee.
