Manmade Fjord

When an outpost gets big enough, the Northmen will endeavour to make the land more defensible, as well as making it a place from which massive raids can be launched quickly. The most common Norscan technique is to create an artificial fjord that can make a settlement near-impossible to penetrate from the sea, while other techniques are employed to guard against land-based attacks, such as the construction of guard shacks and watchtowers.
