Axe Band

Hardened by the bandit life, the furious charge of these axe-swinging troops is deadly to enemy infantry.

A group of screaming enemy soldiers charging towards you is unnerving, but when those soldiers are holding axes, it becomes terrifying. Though the heavy fu axe was once used as a tool, it has been repurposed for the battlefield - now its chief purpose is to split foes' skulls.

These warriors are considered shock-troops because of their powerful charge, which staggers enemies and leaves them vulnerable; the warriors swing their axes in one hand while the other holds a shield to parry retaliatory blows.

Unit Abilities

  • Caltrops
    Simple nut husks, once trodden upon, cause extreme pain and slow movement.
  • Smoke Screen
    Thick plumes of smoke obscure line of sight, making units seem temporarily invisible.
  • Miasma
    The dense and tough undergrowth that plagues the jungles of the South is a hindrance to all those who try to penetrate into the heartlands of the Nanman.
  • Loose
    The unit spreads apart, making it more difficult for arrows to hit them.
