Yellow Turban Archers

After years of ambushing traders, these former bandits now train their arrows on the oppressors of the land.

The Yellow Turbans’ cause is shared by all people unfortunate enough to be born outside of nobility and power.

Outlaws may be considered a scourge upon the land, but their professions – often undertaken by necessity – requires a quick eye and reflexes, and no little bravado to pull off daring raids.

These former bandits’ morale and accuracy with the bow is much improved over any peasant archers they fight alongside. They also carry swords for close combat, but only draw them as a last resort.

Unit Abilities

  • Smoke Screen
    Thick plumes of smoke obscure line of sight, making units seem temporarily invisible.
  • Miasma
    The dense and tough undergrowth that plagues the jungles of the South is a hindrance to all those who try to penetrate into the heartlands of the Nanman.
  • Loose
    The unit spreads apart, making it more difficult for arrows to hit them.

    Can hide in forests.
  • RAIDER
    Idle soldiers will burn down nearby buildings.

Strengths & Weaknesses

  • Role: rear line
    These troops are best placed at the rear of an army, where they can cause damage from a position of relative safety.
  • Poor in melee
    This unit is poor when fighting hand-to-hand. Try to keep it away from enemy formations.
